Come away, October

Beneath, your clear blue skies
On a Sunday, in the noon time
Cast a soft blanket of light—

O'er silhouettes a-gleen,
Palm trees swaying to the warm wind
Blowing nigh, sweepy away.

Slow droplets of salty
Mists bathe my skin in warmth enfold;
Come away now, October—

Fluffy clouds roll on by,
Unveiling your vast heavens
Casting shadows where I lie.
I scribbled this poem while my father was delivering his sermon last Sunday, October 31st. From where he stands, above him the church wall is half-open letting in the sun's rays and you can see the palm trees swaying against the roof. Sitting at the front row, I couldn't help noticing this spectacle.. ~Dette
