Connecting the dots

Sometimes life leads you to a crossroad. It's when you seem to arrive at enough certainty to be able to make your way, you find it's taking you in darkness.

I was there. I was anything but certain. And having passed through it, I can say, I've connected the dots along the way.

To name a few connected dots:
  1. The bending  —Burdens aren't meant to weigh you down, but to strengthen your back.
  2. The groping  —The darkness may lead you astray, but you'll come to appreciate the stars.
  3. The hurting  —All your stumbles don't just bruise your knees, it'll also steady your legs.
  4. The losing  —You don't really forget a dream, you'd just temporarily misplace it.
  5. The suffering —Pains aren't meant to make you sad, but sober; not sorry, but wise.
  6. The coping  —The best helping hands you'll ever experience are attached to your wrists.
  7. The waiting  —Delays are necessary stops to give you rest for the long journey ahead.
  8. The falling  —Mistakes aren't meant to stop you, but to remind you that there will be "similar" dips along the way. So next time, you should know your way around.
See, we've got nothing to lose. When in doubt, read #2.
We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive. ~C S Lewis
